Birding Tours

Looking to witness an up-close view of season bird sightings on private property instead of standing on a distant roadside or worrying about trespassing restrictions? Connecting with Birds and Nature Tours is indeed a bird watcher’s year-round place to visit. The nature trail offers wonderful West Alabama bird and Black Belt bird watching opportunities along the beautiful pasture, bottom-land hardwood, and creeks. Access 200 acres of private property to see seasonal sightings of some unique birds such as Wood Stork, American White Pelicans, White Ibis, Swallow Tailed Kite, Scissor-tailed Flycatcher, Bald Eagles, Great Blue Heron, and Great Egret, Osprey, Mississippi Kite, and Loggerhead Shrike.

Nature Tours

Take a break from the fast life and get connected to the peaceful and tranquil wonders of wildlife and outdoors. Ride in custom trailer or walk along a 6-mile long nature trail with a guided or self-paced tour to visit the following 4 zones to observe natural wildlife such as whitetail deer, rabbits, wild turkeys, bobcats, owls, and more.

Elementary, High School, and College Stuents

At Connecting with Birds and Nature Tours, we craft the perfect field trips for young explorers and young adults. Book a guided tour with our Conservationist for your next school field trip to participate in Fall Festivals or Classroom in the Forest -- a fun-filled day of tree identification, building bird houses, and a bird watching tour along a 6-mile-long nature trail to make learning about the environment and ecological education fun and practical.

There is much to see and do at Connecting with Birds and Nature Tours. Contact us to bring your next get away from home event to life, whether you’re interested in organizing a function with your church group, hosting a scenic paint and sip party, yoga in the forest, or other special event idea.

Events at Connecting with Birds & Nature Tours

    Join us and the Birmingham Audubon as during their first private tour of the 200-acre Joe Farm. Two celebrity birders from the hit series, Birds of North America, Dr. J Drew Lanham and Jason Ward will join us as special guests on this tour. Space is limited! You don't want to miss this.

How It Works

  • Connecting with Birds and Nature Tours is a privately-owned and operated.

  • Tours are available on Saturdays 9:00 am - 5:00 pm by reservations only. School tours are available during the weekdays upon request.

  • 2 - 3 hours should be sufficient for a productive visit.

  • Our trailer rides seat 25 at a time.

  • Cost: $25 per person. Group rates are available.
